Top Ten Book Nerd Characters

Most of you probably know about the Top Ten Tuesday Meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. I am not planning on making this a regular feature quite yet, but I couldn’t resist doing this week’s topic. So here are my Top Ten Book Characters Who Are Book Nerds.

1. Katy from The Lux Series by Jennifer L Armentrout

Katy was the first character to pop into my head, because she writes her own book blog called “Katy’s Krazy Obsession” I believe.

2. Sydney Sage from The Bloodlines Series by Richelle Mead

I couldn’t leave Sydney off my list. She is a huge nerd in general. She jumped on the opportunity to go to high school, even though she had already “graduated” from when she was home schooled.

3. Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare

They had a little Beauty and The Beast moment of their own when Will showed Tessa the library in The Institute, though she was a little disappointed when she found out they didn’t have A Tale of Two Cities.

4. William Herondale from The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare

Speaking of, no matter how much he tried to deny it in the first book, we all know the Tessa wasn’t the only book nerd in the series. Will was right there with her.

5. Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas

Celaena is a bad butt assassin by day and a book worm by night. Could we ask for a cooler character? Probably not.

6. Dorian Haviliard from the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas

It doesn’t come up as much in later books as it does in the first book, but I would definitely consider Dorian a book nerd. When he found out that Celaena likes to read, he got her all of his favorite books, so that he could know what she thought about them.

7. Emma Lindsay from White Space Ilsa J Bick

Another part of today’s category (that I forgot to mention earlier) was that the character could be a writer. Emma is writing her own book, when she discovers that she is a charcter in her book.

8. Hermione from Harry Potter by JK Rowling

No explanation needed on this one.

9. Matilda Wormwood from Matilda by Roald Dohl

Her whole childhood was spent reading. It was probably the only thing that kept her sane while she was growing up.

10. Belle from Beauty and The Beast by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve

I couldn’t make a list of book nerds and not include the first book nerd I knew of as a child.

Leave me a link in the comments if you did this, and I will check it out. Otherwise just tell me your list!
