This post is kind of random, but I’ve been scrolling through Pinterest a lot lately, looking mostly at Throne of Glass related things, and a theory popped into my head for the next book that I HAVE to share with someone or my brain is going to explode. Obviously, SPOILERS FOR EMPIRE OF STORMS AND ANY PREVIOUS BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What if Aelin purposefully got captured by Maeve, because she knows she can escape, but she needs Rowan to be too distracted to stop her from sacrificing herself??? We know Aelin is crazy powerful and crafty, so I think she’ll be able to “save” herself from Maeve pretty early on in the book, but she needs Rowan to go after her so that he is too busy trying to save her from Maeve to save her from herself. Obviously Rowan would try to stop her from being the sacrifice, so she can’t have him know where she is and what she’s doing. She might also be trying to make losing her a little easier on him, by being separated for so long before hand.

On a slightly more positive note now that I’m about to cry thinking about all of that, Rowan will probably try to track her based on her scent or whatever kind of bond they have, so while he may be focused on Maeve for a while, eventually he’ll figure out that she isn’t in Doranelle (sorry if that’s not the name of the city, it’s been a while). He’ll start to trust his senses when he is able to calm down a little and actually follow her, so he gets there in time to stop her from hurting herself.

I just keep picturing a scenario like at the end of Embody by Jamie Magee, if anyone has read that. I’m so freaking scared for this book, but I just need to read it already before I drive myself mad with all of my theories.

Let me know below what you think. Do you have any theories about how Sarah is going to destroy us this time?

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

Synopsis from Goodreads: The queen has returned.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series continues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

Keen Cover Friday

This meme is hosted by http://keepbooked.wordpress.com. If you don’t know what it is, basically you post a picture of one of your favorite covers and eplain why it’s your favorite. This weeks cover I chose is The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas in honor of the upcoming release of Heir of Fire.

First of all, I love the coloring, the blues and purples make it such a pretty cover because they go so well together. Secondly, Celeana looks like a BA. Also, I know you can’t see it in the picture, but as with all of the Throne of Glass books, the front shows Celeana as a BA, and the back is the same pose but she is in a more regal outfit, or at least a different outfit. I took like fifty pictures of it on my phone when I got it. I am even planning to go as Celeana for Halloween this year, using this cover as the basis for the costume.

Tell me what covers are your favorites and/or what you thought about the Throne of Glass Series covers. I really love hearing from you guys, and appreciate the comments.

Waiting on Wednesday (8-27-14)

I am excited for sequel releases in September, as well as author signings in my area.

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien’s only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan’s Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King’s Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but her darkest demons lay in that same place. If she can overcome them, she will be Adarlan’s biggest threat – and his own toughest enemy.

While Celaena learns of her true destiny, and the eyes of Erilea are on Wendlyn, a brutal and beastly force is preparing to take to the skies. Will Celaena find the strength not only to win her own battles, but to fight a war that could pit her loyalties to her own people against those she has grown to love? I first heard of Throne of Glass at the YA Giveback Tour, and was intrigued by the concept. Sarah first thought of the idea when she was listening to the score of the Cinderella movie, and thought ‘what would have happened if Cinderella was an assassin?’ That right there says enough about how amazing this books is.

Comes Out: Sept. 2

Echoes of Us by Kat Zhang

All Eva ever wanted was the chance to be herself. But in the Americas, to be hybrid—to share your body with a second soul—is not tolerated past childhood. Now Eva and Addie, her sister soul, are constantly on the move, hiding from the officials who seek to capture them. But the tide is changing. A revolution is brewing, and people are starting to question the hybrids’ mistreatment.

Then Marion, an ambitious reporter, offers Eva and Addie a daring proposal: If they go undercover and film the wretched conditions of a hybrid institution, she will not only rescue them, she’ll find a way to free Jackson, the boy Addie loves. It’s risky, and Eva will have to leave Ryan and her friends behind, but if she succeeds, it could also tip the scales forever and lead to hybrid freedom.

As Eva and Addie walk into danger, they cling to each other and the hope of a better future. But the price they might pay is higher than they ever could have imagined. (Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17352960-echoes-of-us)

I read this book when it first came out and I saw it at Barnes and Noble. The cover instantly drew me in because it is an amazingly beautiful cover, but then when I read the synopsis, I was sold. I went to get my first book signed at the Young Authors Giveback Tour, and then called and got a signed early copy Once We Were. I am hooked into this series and I can’t believe this is the last book, I am sincerly going to miss every single one of those charasters, and I am honestly scared based on quotes that Kat has put out on her Tumblr.
